Vardar is the champion of the 21st domestic championship after beating Turnovo 5:0 in the decisive match.
Going into the last round of this season, Macedonian football still did not knew the champion of the 21st season. Vardar was two points ahead of Horizont Turnovo and the teams had a mutual match in Skopje. However, the derby of the round went completely in favor of Vardar and the reigning champions managed to defend the title from last season after they destroyed their opponents 5:0 today.
Manevski opened the scoreline in the 17th minute and it was all about Vardar since then. Kostovski doubled the lead when he converted a penalty in 33rd minute and that was the half-time score. In the second half, Stojkov scored a brace and Petrov added one more for a 5:0 win and 7th champions trophy for Vardar.
Metalurg has finished this season as runner-up, thanks to the better head to head against Horizont Turnovo. In the last round, Metalurg has defeated Bregalnica in Shtip in an exciting match with 5 goals. Mitrevski, Simonovski and Krstev scored the goals for Metalurg and they had a 0:3 lead until 90th minute, when Bregalnica’s captain Goran Zdravkov scored two quick goals but for final score of 2:3.
On the bottom of the table, Napredok managed to save themselves beating Pelister 1:2 in Bitola, while Drita defeated Shkendija in Bogovinje. With those results, Drita are 9th and will face Gorno Lisiche in the relegation play-off, while Pelister is 10th and they will face Skopje.
In the matches that had not a big meaning for any of the teams, Rabotnichki sent Teteks in the second league with a 3:1 defeat while Sileks said their farewell from the first league with a 2:2 draw against Renova.
