Macedonian First League – Round 22

Pelister - MakedonijaThird defeat in row for champions Rabotnicki, this time away to Milano in Kumanovo. Vardar defeated Sileks, leaders Makedonija won against Pelister on neutral venue in Ohrid, while Metalurg surprised Renova in Tetovo.

Vardar Skopje – Sileks Kratovo 2:0 (1:0)
1' Emrulahu, 65' Kostencoski
The fastest goal this season and probably the fastest goal in the history of the Macedonian First league was scored today by Burhan Emrulahu in the 12th second of the match when after a mistake by Sileks' defence he took Vardar in the lead. After the opening goal, Sileks played defensive and slow football and so the fans on the stadium in Skopje saw a boring first half. Gligorov had the only chance for Sileks when he shot far over the bar from a free kick, while Ejupi had a serious chance for Vardar when after a corner kick he headed the ball over the goal.
Vardar dominated in the second half and controlled the match. In the 65th minute after another mistake by Sileks' defence, Marko Kostencoski doubled the lead. Vardar continued attacking and Jancevski had good chances to score but he missed his chances in the 85th and 88th minute, so the match ended with a deserved 2:0 win for Vardar.

Milano Kumanovo – Rabotnicki Skopje 1:0 (1:0)
72' Alimi (pen)
One of the most interesting matches was played this round in Kumanovo where second placed Milano hosted champions Rabotnicki who previously had won all five previous mutual matches.
Milano had more of the possession and had control on the match, but Rabotnicki had more chances. The first chance for Milano happened in the 7th minute when Alimi found Lazarevski in the box, but Georgievski saved his shot. Five minutes later, Pandev had good chance to score for Rabotnicki, but Nuredinoski saved.
In the second half, Sekulovski had a chance to take Rabotnicki in the lead when after a free kick taken by Trajcev he headed towards the goal, but failed to score. Few minutes later, Wandeir sent a cross towards the box where he found Masev, but Nuredinoski again saved his goal. The biggest excitement happened in the 72nd minute when Perendija played with his hand in the box and a penalty for Milano was awarded. Armend Alimi took the penalty and scored for 1:0, which was the final score of the match.

Pelister Bitola – Makedonija GjP Skopje 0:2 (0:2)
24' Ivanovski, 36' Brnjarcevski
Pelister hosted Makedonija on the "Biljaniani izvori" stadium in Ohrid because of the big snow that wasn't possible to be cleaned of the pitch on their "Tumbe kafe" stadium in Bitola. This was definitely a big advantage for the leaders Makedonija because the crisis hit hosts didn't had the support from their fans. Because of the financial problems in the club, the Brazilian players left Pelister, but this can only be a positive news for Pelister's fans because the Brazilians were far from reinforcements as they were announced, so few young talents from Pelister's youth squad will have more chances to play in the first squad.
As expected, Makedonija dominated the match and they finished their task in the first half. In the 24th minute, Milevski found the Macedonian U21 national team member Mirko Ivanovski who scored the opening against his former club Pelister. In the 36th minute Toni Brnjarcevski scored fantastic goal from 30 meters and set the final score.
With this defeat, Pelister again dropped on the bottom of the table shared with Napredok with only 18 points.

Renova Dzepciste – Metalurg Skopje 1:1 (1:1)
39' Ibraimi – 35' Ilijoski
Renova and Metalurg played very interesting match in Tetovo where the fans saw attacking football by both teams and many attempts on goal.
Renova had the first big chance to score in the 10th minute when one of Metalurg's players touched the ball with his hand in the box, so the referee whistled for a penalty. Vulnet Emini, the midfielder who is back in the Macedonian national team squad for the match against Holland next week, took the penalty but he struck the ball in the bar. In the 35th minute, Baze Ilijoski used a mistake by Renova's defence and took Metalurg in the lead. But only few minutes later, Besart Ibraimi scored one of the best goals this season when he took a free kick from 25 meters and sent the ball in the net with a fantastic and precise shot.
Both teams continued attacking and created few more good chances in the second half, but failed to score and shared the points at the end.
With this point Metalurg climbed up on the 8th position, while Renova are now on seven points behind the leaders Makedonija.

Napredok Kicevo – Horizont Turnovo 0:0 (0:0)
Heavy snow fell in Kicevo in the last few days, so there was a serious threat that this match will not be played. It took long time for the hosts and the officials by FFM to persuade the visitors to play the match on the impossible for playing conditions, so this match started 30 minutes later.
Because of the hard conditions, both teams had problems for organizing attacks and creating chances so a not so interesting match was played in Kicevo. The real excitement happened in the second half when veterans Oliver Askov and Antonio Niceski attacked the referee who decided not to abandon the match and only show red card to Askov. After the match, Turnovo's coach Stojanov was hit in the head with snow balls from the stands and he suffered concussion.

Pobeda was free this round.
