Macedonian First League – Round 16

Pelister - Renova 22.04.2009No changes on the top and at the bottom of the table after the 16th round. Renova remained leaders on the table, Vardar still in a play-out spot.

Rabotnicki and Turnovo Horizont opened this round with their match on Saturday. In a rather slow match, not full of excitements, Rabotnicki justified their favorites’ role and won all 3 points. Dos Santos Wandeir scored a goal from penalty kick in the beginning of the second half, putting Rabotnicki back on top but only for 24 hours.

Renova once again confirmed the tradition which is on their side in the matches against Pelister. Although not a convincing win, Renova’s 1-0 victory was enough to keep the first place and the 2 points difference between them and Rabotnicki. The only goal of the match was scored by Besart Ibraimi in the 72nd minute.

Metalurg celebrated a convincing victory over Teteks. The changes that have came along with the new coach have proven good for Metalurg and brought new 3 points with 4 goals scored in Teteks’ net. A hat-trick by Mile Krstev and one goal by Vladimir Dimitrovski were more then enough for getting the third place for Metalurg. Teteks finished the match with a player less after Toni Gjorgjevski received a red card.

In Prilep, the match between the former champions Pobeda and Vardar ended in a home win. With the two goals scored by the talented forward Ilija Nestorovski, Pobeda managed to jump to the middle of the table, while Stupić’s goal wasn’t enough for Vardar to avoid defeat and therefore they have remained on the 9th place of the table.

Sileks easily won over Milano with 1-3. Goals scored by Gligorov, Temelkov and Nacev in the first half were enough for 3 points for the Kratovo team. Maliki scored for Milano.

The match between Makedonija GP and Sloga J. was not played after their disqualification from further competition.
