Macedonian First League – Round 1

Rabotnicki - Metalurg The 18th season of the Macedonian First League started today. Newcomers Teteks managed to hold champions Makedonija GjP in the most interesting match from the opening round. 

After the big break of 16 years, one of the most famous Macedonian football clubs Teteks from Tetovo returned in the Macedonian First League and in their first match they had the luck to host the reigning champions Makedonija. In a very interesting match, Teteks managed to equalize in the 94th minute of the match and start the season with an important point.
Vardar was close to surprise Sileks and had the lead in the second half, but Sileks managed to equalize in the last seconds of the match. Pelister failed to win over newly promoted Sloga Jugomagnat, besides the numerous chances created, while the only win in the opening matches was noted in Kumanovo where Renova as expected won away to Milano.
Another draw was noted in the first round on the match played on the Macedonian national holiday Ilinden, when Rabotnicki played 1:1 at home with Metalurg.
The only home win was noted in Turnovo where the hosts defeated Pobeda in the last match of the first round.
