Stunning eliminations for Rabotnichki and Napredok, Teteks, Pelister, Turnovo and Gorno Lisiche won convincingly, while reigning cup champions Renova barely got past Poeshevo.
Napredok has started the league season very well with the maximum 6 points after two games, but was eliminated from the domestic cup by Second League newcomers Babi. Rabotnichki was the other First League side to be eliminated from the competition by losing out to Pobeda Junior on penalties after it was 0:0 at the end of regulation.
Teteks destroyed Ohrid in a high scoring match , winning with 7:2 on the road. It seems Ohrid will experience some tough times this season as they let in nine goals over the weekend to Tikvesh in the first round of the Second League. Convincing wins were also recorded by Pelister, Turnovo and Gorno Lisiche, none of them having problems against third league opponents.
Bregalnica Shtip, Lokomotiva and Bashkimi needed penalties to eliminate their respective opponents after each game was tied at the end of 90 minutes.
The other First League clubs who proceeded were Metalurg, Drita, Vardar, Sileks and the defending cup champions Renova who was made to work but eventually got past Third League South-West participant Poeshevo.
The match between Third League East member Astibo and 11 Oktomvri was supposed to be played yesterday, but it was not played after Astibo was denied to use the Gradski Stadium in Shtip. Thus, 11 Oktomvri was awarded the automatic 3:0 win to secure a place in the next round.
Another game, meanwhile, was postponed as Plachkovica (Third League East participant) informed FFM on time that they can’t provide a suitable stadium for their match against Shkendija. At this time, no new date has been announced as to when the game would take place.
