The Macedonian U21 national team is still without a win after three played matches in the qualifications for the European U21 Championship in 2011. Today they were held by Lithuania with 1:1.

Despite having the lead from the first minute, Macedonia failed to repeat the good performance from the match against England U21 this weekend. Muarem Muarem took Macedonia in the lead right after the kick-off, but that’s all that our players did in the first 60 minutes.

After couple of chances, Arvydas Novikovas managed to equalize in the 58th minute. This goal finally gave motivation for our players and they started attacking, but Ibraimi, Ivanovski and Fazli failed to score. The attacking play of the Macedonian team gave space for the Lithuanians who also had several good chances in the second half, but the match ended with 1:1.

Macedonia U21 will play the next match away to England on 9th October.
