Macedonian national team will play a friendly match against Denmark on 6th of February.

Football federation of Macedonia have informed the public that the national team will play a friendly match against the Danish national team on 6th of February in Skopje.

Macedonia will open 2013 with a friendly match against current 22nd placed on FIFA ranking list. Denmark did not have the best of starts in the qualification campaign for World Cup 2014, as they have 2 points from the first 3 matches. They are in Group B along with Italy, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Armenia and Malta.

Macedonia has in fact played the first official match against Denmark on 7th of September, 1994. That match ended 1:1, with Mitko Stojkovski scoring the first goal in 5th minute, but Denmark managed to equalize in the later stages of the match, after Darko Panchev was sent off. Macedonia then lost the return match in Denmark with 1:0.
