On the updated FIFA World Rankings, Macedonia dropped five spots to occupy the #105 position in July.
The FIFA World Rankings were revealed for the month of July moments ago. After losing 2:1 to Slovakia on June 14, Macedonia knew it would drop several spots. With that being the lone game over the past month, Macedonia lost ten points to fall to #105, down five positions from June.
When it comes to its Group C rivals in the EURO 2016 qualifications, three teams are now in the top 27 of the world. Spain leads the way at #12, Slovakia sits at #15, while Ukraine climbed to #27 (up eight spots over the previous month). As for the other two nations in the group, Belarus (now #100) and Luxembourg (now #146) both saw double digit drops to join Macedonia in triple digit category on the rankings.
Macedonia’s next two qualifiers come in September, first a road fixture against Luxembourg on the 5th and then a home clash versus Spain on the 8th (also happens to be independence day for Macedonia).
