Blagoja Ljamcevski talks about his personal and his club’s ambitions in an interview for MacedonianFootball.com.
Ljamcevski’s club Metalurg are 4th on the table, 6 points behind leaders Shkendija and are in the semi-final of the Macedonian cup with a match against Napredok.
The club from Avtokomanda were very active in the winter transfer period. They have brought Dragan Nacevski (Iloupoli, Greece), Baze Ilijoski (Gangwon, South Korea), Kliment Nastoski (Krško, Slovenia), Agron Memedi (Renova), Aleksandar Krsteski (Shkumbini, Albania) and Petar Basnarkov (Sweden), while Ertan Demiri (Al Tawon, Saudi Arabia), Blagojce Dameski (11 Oktomvri), Jordan Georgievski (?), Nikolce Kleckaroski (Teteks), and Lazar Iliev (loaned to Bregalnica) are out of the club.
‘We have started the winter preparations on 12th of January in Skopje and then moved to Negorski Banji where we played 2 matches and won them both. Afterwards, we moved to Ohrid where we put our focus on getting into shape for the second half-season’ – started Ljamcevski.
If we exclude the match against Smederevo which was interrupted, Metalurg won 6 out of 6 friendly matches. (Miravci 4:0, Tiverija 5:1, Euromilk 1:0, Teteks 2:1, Vlaznimi 3:0 and Bregalnica 2:1)
‘Metalurg’s ambitions are clear for this season. The semi-final of the Macedonian Cup must be used. The 6 points behind Shkendija are not too much and can easily be reached. So, we are heading for at least one trophy, but why not get them both?’ – continued Ljamcevski with his talk.
Metalurg starts the second half-season on 5th of March when they host Pelister, Ljamcevski’s first club. As Bitola-born footballer, we asked him what he thinks about the current condition in which his first club is currently.
‘It is sad to watch Pelister at this state. Seeing the club where I started my career at the bottom, when they should be at the top of Macedonian football is not an easy thing for me, but there’s nothing I can do. I think Bitola deserves better football and much more attention should be given to Pelister’ – points out Blagoja.
On 5th of March we might just see Ljamcevski brothers on the pitch but in opposing teams. Blagoja’s younger brother, Petar, is in Pelister and already started getting appearances in the first team.
‘Pelister’s youth school does an amazing job and produces excellent players. My brother is part of them and is surely one of the most talented players. I think he has bright future ahead of him and is a hot prospect for Pelister’.
Ljamcevski already has many clubs in his career, although he is only 23 years old. He played for Pelister, Pobeda, Makedonija GP, Rabotnicki, Metalurg. As our final question, we have asked him if he is looking for an international transfer soon.
‘As a professional footballer, I am looking into the possibility of a transfer in more attractive league where I can put my focus on improving as a player, but for now I am fully focused on Metalurg. My plans are to stay here and do my best to help the club in the battle for the 2 available trophies’ – finished Ljamcevski.
