Macedonian players moving on east trend continues. Dusan Savić is new member of Pakhtakor FK from Uzbekistan.
The 25-years-old striker today signed a contract with Uzbek club Pakhtakor FK from the capital city of Tashkent. Savić was previously linked with a move to Azeri club Xəzər, afterwards he was on trial with Banants from Armenia, but ended in Uzbekistan.
Pakhtakor is the most successful club in Uzbekistan with 8 titles (last in 2007) since country’s independence, 10 times winner of the Uzbek Cup (last 2009), but is still without an international tittle. In the last 3 seasons their city rivals Bunyodkor where Stevica Ristić used to play were dominating in the Uzbek League. The new season in Uzbekistan kicks off on 5th of March and Pakhtakor hosts Qizilqum in the first round. Savić’s new club hopes that the part-time Macedonian national team player will help the club in their ambitions for this season. As Pakhtakor finished on the 2nd place in the 2010 Uzbek League, will participate in the AFC 2011 Champions League Group stage.
Savić has 7 appearances for the national team of Macedonia, but still hasn’t scored a goal. Savić was without club since he left South Korean side Incheon United last year. Before he played for Braşov (Romania), Macedonian clubs Belasica, Pobeda, Vardar and Rabotnicki, while his first club was Serbian Dubočica. He is born in Niš, Serbia, but holds Macedonian nationality as he moved to Macedonia as teenager.
