Meanwhile, also in earlier action Thursday in Belgium, Mechelen, the team of Tome Pachovski and Aleksandar Trajkovski, squared off on the road against Lierse.  Mechelen, who was coming off an emphatic 5:2 win in the previous round, could not continue its momentum as they lost 0:3 to Lierse by conceding all three goals after the 74th minute.  Pachovski played from the start in goal, while Aleksandar Trajkovski came off the bench in the 84th minute.

Ivan Trichkovski, the other Macedonian player based in the Belgian championship, is currently in action for Waasland-Beveren against Club Brugge, his club from last year that sent Ivan on loan for this season at Waasland-Beveren.

In other games involving Macedonian internationals on Thursday, Goran Popov of West Brom and Stefan Ristovski of Latina did not suit up for their respective teams.  Even under the new West Brom manager, Popov was once again not included in the 18 player matchday squad in the 1:1 draw away to Tottenham, while Ristovski remained out with an injury in the 0:0 home draw against Cesena.
