Kochani defended its cup trophy in the women’s game by getting past Dragon 3:2 earlier on Thursday.
For the second consecutive year, Kochani won the women’s cup in Macedonia. After beating Konzuli 5:2 in the final last year, they had a much more difficult task this season as Kochani needed a come from behind victory. Their opponent, Dragon, won the league trophy and they beat Kochani twice in that competition, 4:2 at home and 2:0 on the road. However, Kochani got some revenge in the cup final to spoil the attempt of Dragon to win the double.
National team striker Eli Jakovska brought the lead to Dragon just before halftime. Kochani would equalize early in the 2nd half, before Jakovski once again handed Dragon the lead with her second goal in the 48th minute. Still, Kochani never lost hope and ten minutes later Katerina Mileska would tie the score at 2:2. In the 65th minute, the game winner came in courtesy of Sashka Kokalovska.
