Dragi Kocev and Lokomotiv Plovdiv came up short in the Bulgarian Super Cup final by losing 1:3 against Ludogorets.
Dragi Kocev made a late substitute appearance for Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the 84th minute when he replaced Jérémie Rodrigues. Ludogorets led 2:1 at that time but managed to put the game away in the 90th minute to complete the 3:1 scoreline. Kocev was unable to win the Super Cup trophy as was the case of another Macedonian international in Agim Ibraimi who accomplished that feat with his team in Slovenia.
With the win, Ludogorets completed the treble in Bulgaria as they won the domestic league and cup title last year and then clinched the Super Cup trophy today. The Super Cup is played before the start of a new season, usually between the winners of the league title and domestic cup. However, since Ludogorets won both of those trophies last season, the runner up of the Bulgarian Cup, Lokomotiv Plovdiv, was the opponent in today’s match.
