Croatian central defender Jure Jerbić is the newest signing for title contenders Shkendija.
The 25-year-old Jure Jerbić comes from the Croatian top flight side Zadar. Shkendija will be his first adventure not just outside of Croatia, but also outside of the city of Zadar. Jure had played his entire career with Vardar until this point.
Shkendija was desperately looking for a central defender, especially one that was right football. With the departures of Yordan Miliev, Sedat Berisha, Nikola Vukčević and Mevlan Adili, the club was left without a natural CB to face Aberdeen in the Europa League qualifications. Therefore, they used Ardian Cuculi, normally a left back, and Artim Polozhani, normally a defensive midfielder, as the CB pairing versus Aberdeen. They actually played rather well, but Shkendija still wanted to address that position.
Jerbić becomes Shkendija’s sixth summer signing after Ferhan Hasani, Besart Ibraimi, Ardian Cuculi, Marjan Radeski and Shqiprim Taipi.
