One of the brightest Macedonian talents, Nikola Jakimovski, speaks of his stay in Ferencváros and his wish to play for the national team.

Nikola Jakimovski (20) agreed to an interview with 24Fudbal where he openly speaks about his current club Ferencváros and his view on Macedonian football.

How has Your transfer to Ferencváros happened?
– The Hungarians were one of the clubs interested in me. Hajduk, Partizan, OFK Beograd, Antwerpen, Twente and several other clubs also declared interest, but along with my manager Radovan Stijačić we have chose Ferencváros where we thought I would have my biggest progress.

What was the feeling like when You debuted for the first team?
– When the coach asked me to get in, I was feeling positive anxiety. I was very happy and i thought of my parents. my girlfriend and my manager and how happy they must be as well. The feeling of having Your debut in front of 15.000 fans is amazing.

Can You compare the conditions for development of young players in Hungary and Macedonia?
– In the last years Hungary is taking big steps in order to provide good conditions and from that view they are better then Macedonia. But, in Macedonia there are better young players with worse play conditions.

Do You consider changing Your club or You are happy in Ferencváros?
– Ferencváros is a club that can provide a player with anything. Just like Budapest is as a city. I am happy here, I live with my girlfriend and I don’t think of changing my club. I am still young, I have two years left of my contract so it is up to me and my improvement as a player.

Where would You like to play one day?
– Oh, I only have one wish – Juventus.That is the club I follow since I was a little kid and I would very much like to play one day there.

How much do You follow Macedonian championship after You left it? What do You think we need to do in order to improve the domestic league?
– I do follow the league. I know it is not on satisfactory level, but I don’t think major changes are needed for an improvement. A little work and hope we can see better tomorrow.

You have appearances for U17 and U19 national teams. Do You dream of wearing the national team jersey as well?
– I think every Macedonian footballer dreams of playing for his country, but let’s not skip ladders. I should first get a call for U21 national team – that would be a dream come true.

– Juventus.

Favorite footballer?
– Cristiano Ronaldo.

Favorite coach?
– José Mourinho.

Which Macedonian club is Your favorite?
– Makedonija Gjorce Petrov. Although they are not in the first league anymore, it is the club where I played in youth categories and in the first team.

Your life dream?
– One and only – playing for the Macedonian national team.
