Ivan Trickovski (R) could be headed to Rubin KazanNumerous Russian newspapers, including Sport-Express, are reporting that Rubin is interested in signing Ivan Trickovski.

The popular Russian sports newspaper “Sport-Express” is reporting that Rubin from Kazan has already started negotiations about the transfer of attacker Ivan Trickovski.  The newspaper stated that Trickovski’s representative has visited the city of Kazan and held talks with Rubin president Dmitry Samarenkin.  Trickovski is being viewed as a replacement for Christian Noboa who was sold to Dynamo Moskva a couple of days ago.

Trickovski can play any position in attack and has been with APOEL since the summer of 2010.  Ivan won the league title last year but the biggest achievement during his time with APOEL was the club reaching the Champions League Round of 16 this year where they will face French side Lyon.  Rubin Kazan is a wealthy Russian club who certainly has the resources to make APOEL an enticing offer, more so than Köln, another club that was rumored to be interested in Trickovski.

In the EURO 2012 qualifiers, Macedonia and Russia were in the same group so Trickovski could have caught the eye of Rubin with his good performances.  Ivan has raised his profile in recent times after his form with both club and country.  Trickovski began his career with Vardar, then moved to Rabotnicki, before transferring to Serbian giants Crvena Zvezda.  However, Ivan did not receive many opportunities with Crvena Zvezda and was sent on loan to Cypriot club Enosis for the 2009-10 season to play under Macedonian manager Cedomir Janevski.  After a strong season with Enosis, the best team in Cyprus, APOEL, decided to sign Trickovski in the summer.  The rest has been history and now Ivan could be headed to Russia with top division side Rubin.
