Goalkeeper Dejan Iliev got a chance to play with some well known players during Tuesday’s game for Arsenal U21.
Dejan Iliev, member of Arsenal’s U21 team, played with Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby during Tuesday’s youth encounter against Stoke City. Those three players needed some match fitness after lengthy injuries, so they were fielded for the U21 team.
Iliev started in goal and lasted all 90 minutes. Arsenal U21 won 4:1, the opponent’s lone goal coming on a blunder by Iliev. That came in the 8th minute when Iliev bobbled a cross, leading to a score on the rebound. However, Arsenal U21 rebounded to score the next four goals.
Goal for Stoke. Iliev spills Rickett-Hopkinson’s cross and Shenton taps in from close range (8) 0-1
