The players of the Slovenian top division have nominated Agim Ibraimi as one of the finalists for the player of the season award.

Despite the fact that Agim Ibraimi has only scored 2 goals in the 2014-15 season in Slovenia, he was named a finalist when it comes to the “player of the season” award. This is a good accomplishment since players of the top division voted which players to nominate. Nobody knows more about which players are good than the ones that are actually facing those guys on a weekly basis. So, Agim is held is high regard by his peers in Slovenia.

Besides Agim Ibraimi, the other two finalists for the player of the season award are Marco Tavares, a teammate of Ibraimi at Maribor, and Celje playmayker Benjamin Verbič.

Verbič is considered one of the top talents in Slovenia. At 21, he recently signed a pre-contract with Danish club Copenhagen. He will officially join them in the summer. Meanwhile, as mentioned earlier, Ibraimi and Tavares are teammates at Maribor. Tavares serves as the club captain and is beloved by the fans.

Maribor fans have written to us that Agim has not been in good form for most of this season, but obviously the players of the league disagree.
