Heerenveen still looking to loan Samir Fazli

The transfer window closes in about two weeks but Heerenveen is still aggresively searching for the right club to loan their 20 year old striker Samir Fazli.  Heerenveen would like to loan Fazli to another Dutch club and the goal is to find a team where he would get regular playing time in order to continue his development as a player.  Another reason why Heerenveen has limited their search to the Netherlands is that if Fazli goes on loan abroad, they will once again have to apply for a work permit upon his return which could cause problems.

Fazli recently made his debut for the Macedonian national team in the friendly against Azerbaijan.  He had a solid debut by showing a fighting spirit and bringing energy that seemed to rub off on the rest of his teammates.  However, Fazli is expected to return to the Macedonian U21 national team as they soon begin their qualifications and manager Boban Babunski will be counting on Fazli who is viewed as one of the better players on the team.

Earlier this summer, Dutch second division side SC Veendam was rumored to be interested in Fazli but nothing happened and Fazli remained with Heerenveen.  Fazli does not appear to be in the plans of Heerenveen manager Ron Jans as he was not called up during the first two matches of the season so a loan would probably be the best solution for both sides.  Samir joined Heerenveen during the summer of 2009 from Macedonian club Makedonija Gjorce Petrov.  To date, he has made 15 league appearances and has scored one goal in a Heerenveen uniform.
