Hasani continues in Saudi Arabia

Ferhan Hasani eventually found a new club. It is the Saudi Arabian team of Al-Ra’ed who seems to have offered financially the best deal to the former Shkendija captain.

After leaving Shkendija in late May, Ferhan Hasani eventually settled down. With rumors sending his in Turkey and Israel, he ended up in Saudi Arabia after all. His new club is Al-Ra’ed from the city of Buraydah. It is fairy unknown club for the Macedonian fans. Practically, it is the worst club in the Saudi Arabian top flight as last season they ended second to last but didn’t get relegated thanks to the fact that the Saudi FA decided to expand the league and therefore none got relegated. Instead, Al-Ra’ed and the bottom placed team entered a relegation play-off and in which they managed to win and stay in the top flight.

Hasani will probably be the second big name in the squad with Guinean striker Ismaël Bangoura being the other one. The former Dynamo Kyin, Rennes and Nantes player has been with the clubs since 2016.

Many expected Hasani to sign for a decent European club as he was one of the best players in the Macedonian league for the past few seasons. But obviously Hasani decided to continue his career at this club for financial reasons. Middle East clubs are known for paying good salary, something that no European club would give to a Macedonian player.

Being almost three months without a club, Hasani is doubtful for a call for the upcoming Nations League qualifiers against Gibraltar and Armenia. The new season in Saudi Arabia begins on 30 August when his team visits Al-Ettifaq.
