It’s now official. Shkendija announced on its website that Ferhan Hasani would be returning to the club on a 3 year contract. Hasani comes to Shkendija as a free agent after he couldn’t agree on an extension with Brøndby in Denmark.

Although terms were not revealed, Ferhan will become the highest paid player in the Macedonian league. Shkendija’s main sponsor, Ecolog, decided to make the investment since they knew the qualities of the player. Hasani is beloved by the club’s fans as he was the main target of sporting director Nebi Mustafi this transfer market.

Hasani’s agent and Shkendija were negotiating for weeks, and finally “Ecolog” agreed to the contract demands. Ferhan will be available to the club for the two Aberdeen games in the Europa League.

This is undoubtedly a huge addition for Shkendija, but it’s another uninspiring transfer for a national team player. Hasani has performed well for both Macedonia and Brøndby this year, and the expectation was that he would move to a top 10 European league, but instead he returns to Shkendija.

Hasani will be unveiled at a press conference on Thursday.
