The draw for the European competitions was made today and the Macedonian clubs got hard tasks. Rabotnicki will meet Inter Baku in the Champions League qualifications while Pelister will play against APOEL and Milano will face Omonia in the UEFA Cup qualifications.
Macedonian champion Rabotnicki will meet the champion of Azerbaijan, Inter Baku FC, in the first qualifying round of the Champions League. The new squad of FK Rabotnicki Skopje will have hard task in the first round against one of the richest clubs in Azerbaijan, the country which football is in big progress in the last few years because of the big investments. The first leg will be played in Azerbaijan on 15/16 July and Rabotnicki will host Inter on 22/26 July. If Rabotnicki manages to qualify for the next stage, then they will meet Serbian champions FK Partizan Beograd.
Both Macedonian representatives in the UEFA Cup, Pelister and Milano got opponents from Cyprus. FK Milano Kumanovo, the Macedonian vice-champion, will host AC Omonia Nicosia in the first qualification roun, while FK Pelister Bitola will meet APOEL from Nicosia whose member is former Macedonian national team goalkeeper Jane Nikoloski.The first qualifying round is played on 17 July and the second leg on 31 July.
