The retired football legendary players of Bulgaria and Macedonia will play a charity match in Bulgarian city of Varna on April 27 at 17:00 CET. The goal is to raise funds and provide support for the victims of the Kochani fire, and all proceeds from this match will be donated to the victims of the nightclub tragedy that took the lives of 61 people.
The organizer of the humanitarian match is the foundation National94, behind which is the famous generation of Bulgaria from the 1994 World Cup in USA that left a deep mark on world football with its 4th place, as well as the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM).
The team of Bulgaria will feature legendary footballers led by Hristo Stoichkov, then Borislav Mihaylov, Emil Kostadinov, Yordan Lechkov, Nasko Sirakov, Ivaylo Yordanov, Boncho Genchev, Krasimir Balakov, and there will also be players from the younger generation, such as Valeri Bozhinov.
The Macedonian national team is composed of players from the first national team generation, the one after the independence, but also players who joined later and also left deep traces. Our team also includes Tasevski and Trajanov, players who left their mark in the Bulgarian top flight.
Gjoko Hadjievski is the head coach of the Macedonian national team, while Dimitar Penev is the head coach of the Bulgarian team.
As reported by FFM, the competition will be preceded by a charity program featuring popular performers, which will begin at 15:00 CET.
Tickets can be purchased through the Eventim network at prices starting at 15 levs.
“This gesture of solidarity represents a strong message of humanity and togetherness and a symbol of friendship, sportsmanship and shared humanity,” said FFM.
