Goran Popov signs with Heerenveen

Goran PopovGoran Popov, the 23-years-old former Levadiakos defender and member of the Macedonian national team, signs a 4 years long contract with Dutch side SC Heerenveen.

After the good performances in the Greek league in Levadiakos' shirt and on the Macedonian national team matches, Goran Popov took the attention from few bigger European clubs. Several managers and scouts watched him on the friendly against Poland in May, so after his good performance it was only question of time when he will make a big transfer. Famous Dutch club SC Heerenveen showed the biggest interest, so yesterday they signed Popov with 4 years long contract.
Goran Popov started his career in Belasica from Strumica and in the past he has played for Serbian club Crvena Zvezda from Belgrade, Polish Odra Wodzislav and Greek clubs AEK Athens, Egaleo and Levadiakos. He had his debut for the Macedonian national team in 2004 and since then he made 17 appearances.
