Goran Popov returned to action for Dynamo Kyiv

In a Marbella Cup match that was played in Spain, Goran Popov made his first appearance for Dynamo Kyiv since undergoing a knee operation in mid November of last year.

Goran Popov started at LB for Dynamo Kyiv and played all 90 minutes in his team’s 2:0 victory over Russian side Krylia Sovetov in the Marbella Cup tournament which is being held in Spain.  Popov was one of three Dynamo Kyiv players who played the entire game.  Goran actually played a part in the second goal for Dynamo Kyiv in the 84th minute when he found Andriy Yarmolenko on the left flank whose cross was then met by Artem Milevskiy’s header to reach the back of the net.

This was Goran’s first appearance in a game since undergoing a knee operation to repair a damaged meniscus on 21 November 2011 in Rome, Italy.  Popov trained individually for several weeks but was finally cleared by the team doctors to return to game action for this encounter against Krylia Sovetov.
