After five consecutive league defeats, manager Goran Petreski has left Rabotnicki.
Following today’s defeat against city rival Vardar, Goran Petreski is no longer Rabotnicki’s coach, MacedonianFootball.com can exclusively report. Rabotnicki lost four consecutive league matches when the management had a meeting and implemented harsh fines for both the players and management in order to turn things around. However, even after today’s derby against Vardar, Rabotnicki had a 1:0 lead and also had an extra player but managed to lose once again with Vardar captain Filip Ivanovski scoring two goals after fellow Vardar player Vlatko Grozdanoski was shown a red card.
Goran Petreski led Rabotnicki to the biggest success in the club’s history by helping Rabotnicki reach the play-off round of the Europa League when they would eventually lose against Lazio. However, things did not go as well for the Debar Maalo club in the domestic championship as the club currently finds itself in 8th place with only 15 points after 13 rounds. Furthermore, Rabotnicki has accumulated five consecutive league defeats and that was enough for Petreski to resign from his position as manager of the club. The interim manager will be sports director Igor Angelovski but a new coach is expected to be named in the coming days.
