After serving a two match suspension, Goran Pandev was back in the Napoli squad today and played a part in all three of his team’s goals during the 3:1 win over Parma.
Goran Pandev was back in the Napoli starting lineup during the third round of the 2012/13 Italian Serie A against Parma. Pandev quickly made a contribution in the 2nd minute when he won a penalty after the referee ruled that the Parma keeper had fouled Goran inside the area. The keeper Antonio Mirante was booked and Napoli striker Edinson Cavani converted the penalty for an early 1:0 lead for the home side.
In the 39th minute, Pandev scored his first league goal of the season, connecting on an effort from close range after being set up nicely by Slovak international Marek Hamšík. Parma pulled one goal back in the 44th minute for a 2:1 Napoli lead at halftime.
Napoli managed to put the game away in the 78th minute with a sublime Pandev assist to Lorenzo Insigne. Goran, surrounded by several opposing players, showed good vision with a clever pass to Insigne who then fired a shot past Mirante to set the final scoreline at 3:1.

With the win, Napoli is one of three teams in the early season to have the maximum 9 points after the opening three rounds, joining Juventus and Lazio in a tie at the top of the table. Sampdoria also won all the three games, but have one point less because of the point deduction penalty.
