Gligorov made debut for Alki

Nikola Gligorov made his debut for Alki today but his side suffered a convincing 4:1 loss away to Omonia.

Nikola Gligorov started on the bench for Alki before he came on the start of the 2nd half replacing Jonathan Aspas.  Alki was losing 3:0 at halftime so the manager decided to make some changes during the break including bringing on Gligorov.  Alki played better in the 2nd half and even scored a goal but they still suffered a 4:1 loss in the first round of games in Cyprus.

In the other game in Cyprus that involved a Macedonian international, Ivan Trickovski and APOEL drew 0:0 against AEK Larnaca.  Trickovski played all 90 minutes for APOEL and his best chance came in the 30th minute but his shot from the edge of the area was saved by the opposing keeper.  After the game, Trickovski did not have time to rest as he had to catch a flight to Macedonia to join up with the national team in preparation for the EURO 2012 qualifications against Russia and Andorra.
