Mario Gjurovski scored his ninth league goal this season with a spectacular strike in today’s game between Muangthong United and Chonburi.

Muangthong United and Chonburi, the second and third placed teams on the standings in Thailand, squared off earlier on Saturday, each side looking to get closer to top ranked Buriram United.  Mario Gjurovski started in attacking midfield for Muangthong United and scored an early goal in the 2nd minute with a great volley from just outside of the box.  Mario’s first effort was blocked, but the ball then fell perfectly for Gjurovski to unleash a well struck volley to the upper right corner.

Gjurovski eventually played until the 53rd minute when he was substituted by Edivaldo Hermoza.  Muangthong United still led 1:0 at that point, but Chonburi scored the equalizer in the 60th minute which proved to be the final goal of the game in the 1:1 draw.  Gjurovski’s club is now two points behind Buriram United on the table, with the leaders also having a game in hand.
