Gjoko Hadzievski is no longer the manager of Pelister after handing in his resignation on Monday following the club’s relegation.
Gjoko Hadzievski, an accomplished coach in Macedonia who formerly led the national team, departed Pelister on Monday after the club was officially relegated to the second division over the weekend. Hadzievski was not able to turn things around, as his name and reputation took a big hit in the city of Bitola. Reading commentary, Pelister fans are livid at Hadzievski, the new supposed owner, and the mayor of Bitola.
Hadzievski tried to blame the owner for the relegation of Pelister, saying the owner gave him empty promises. Pelister mainly signed unproven young players this past winter, and that strategy backfired big time. None of the players panned out and Pelister looked inferior almost every game.
Pelister has two games remaining this season, but an interim coach will now lead the team. The club must regroup and reorganize ahead of their participation in the Second League next season. Hopefully better days will be on the horizon for Pelister.
