To celebrate the 65th year of its existence, Moldovan side Zimbru invited Vardar to play a friendly which the Macedonian side won 0:2.

Vardar was not at full strength as the club’s best player Filip Ivanovski was in Portugal with the senior national team of Macedonia.  Regardless, Vardar managed to defeat Zimbru in Moldova by scoring a goal in each half through Jovan Kostovski in the 37th minute and Milan Ilievski in the 61st minute.

Zimbru – Vardar 0:2 (0:1)

Vardar lineup:  Simov, Boshkovski, Bojović (75′ Tanevski), Vajs, Ilievski, Osa, Stjepanovikj, Cikarski (85′ Kolekjevski), Stojaković, Petrov (88′ Acevski), Kostovski (90′ Manovski).

Zimbru finished in third place in the Moldovan top division this past season, and their players were presented with bronze medals after this friendly for the club’s third place finish in league play.
