Flamur Tairi stays with Teuta

Although it was expected that he would continue his career in Switzerland, Flamur Tairi was unable to find a club and has returned to his former club Teuta.

The new contract for Flamur Tairi with Teuta is for one year, according to newspaper albania-sport.com.  Tairi was unable to secure a transfer with a Swiss team, his preference, and instead of playing the waiting game, he has decided to return to Teuta on a one year deal.

Last season, out of a maximum 26 league games, Tairi made 23 appearances and scored 2 goals.  Teuta finished in 2nd place which meant that they would participate in the first qualifying round of the Europa League.  In the first leg of their matchup against Metalurgi Rustavi played on 5 July, Teuta lost 0:3 at home so they have minimal chances of advancing to the next round.  Since Flamur signed his new deal with Teura today, he will be ineligible to play in the return leg.  Each club in the competition is required by UEFA to disclose their roster several days before an actual round takes place and only those players are eligible to participate in that particular round.
