Filip Timov picks up goal, assist (Video)

A member of the Macedonian U21 national team, Filip Timov, had a good Saturday as he amassed a goal and an assist to help Aris Limassol achieve three points.

Aris Limassol in currently playing in the relegation play-offs since the 26th and final round of the Cypriot regular season concluded earlier in the week.  The bottom two teams after 26 rounds, Enosis and Alki, were already relegated, but two more teams will see the drop.

The teams that finished from 7th to 12th place (Cyprus has a 14 team league) make up the relegation play-offs.  Today, Aris Limassol, a team that is in 12th place, picked up a much needed three points in a 3:1 win over AEK Larnaca.  Filip Timov played a big part in the win by compiling a goal and an assist.

In the 34th minute, with the game still goalless, Timov won the ball near midfield and made a long run before sending in a cross towards goal that was tapped in from close range by Christer Youssef.  Timov then scored a goal himself in the 42nd minute to give Aris a 2:0 lead.  The final score would be 3:1 after each team scored one goal in the 2nd half.
