FIFA rankings: Macedonia moves up 5 places

The win over Italy brought Macedonia enough points to climb 5 places on the March FIFA Coca-Cola World Ranking.

The Lynx made the shock of the year by beating Italy 1:0 away in the semifinal play-off for reaching the 2022 World Cup, but later fell 2:0 away to Portugal. Beating the current European champion and 6th placed team of the FIFA rankings earned Macedonia many points, enough to leave behind Iceland, Jamaica, Slovenia, Albania and Congo DR who previously were better ranked.
