FFM confirm: Friendly against Türkiye in Istanbul on 01 June

The Macedonian national team will definitely play a friendly match against Turkey in Istanbul on 01 June 1, FFM confirmed on Friday.

The match will be played at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium, home of Fenerbahçe, starting at 20:30 CET (19:30 local time).

The Turkish national team is a participant in the 2026 World Cup and will be a serious test for coach Goce Sedloski’s team.

This is the second confirmed friendly match for the Lynx after it was previously confirmed that a match would be played on 29 May against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, also a participant in the upcoming World Cup.

Macedonia and Turkey have played 8 matches so far, 4 of which were friendlies and 6 were qualifiers. The Turks are more successful with 5 wins, two matches ended in draws, while the Macedonians have won only once, 1:0 in a friendly in June 2006 on neutral ground in Germany. The last match between the two was in June 2017 in Skopje and ended in a goalless.
