The Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) board of directors held a meeting today where they informed the public of their choices for the 2011 awards.
As expected, Ivan Trickovski of APOEL was chosen as the footballer who represented Macedonian football abroad in the best manner for 2011. Trickovski dethroned Goran Pandev who has won that award for the past five years before Tricko snapped the streak this year. Meanwhile, Shkendija’s Ferhan Hasani was given the nod as the best player in the domestic championship. The past two winners of the award, Besart Ibraimi (2009) and Martin Bogatinov (2010), quickly made transfers abroad after winning the award. Ibraimi moved to Schalke 04 while Bogatinov transferred to Karpaty Lviv. Hasani continued that tradition by recently completing a transfer to German club Wolfsburg. Some of the other awards included Darko Velkovski of Rabotnicki being chosen as the best youth player, while Shkendija was voted as the best club for the past year.

Special recognition for referee: Ljubomir Krstevski

Best referee: Aleksandar Stavrev
Best manager: Kjatip Osmani
Best goalscorer: Baze Ilijoski
Fair play club: Sileks
Best football club: Shkendija
Best domestic player: Ferhan Hasani

Meanwhile, in other news, FFM has set the dates for the two transfer periods in 2012. The winter transfer window will open on 2 January and last until 31 January, while the summer transfer period will begin on 10 June and last until 31 August 2012.
