The three candidates for the best player award during the first half of the season, Filip Ivanovski, Ferhan Hasani, and Hrisitijan Dimoski, were chosen by members on our forum.  After the selections were announced, a poll featuring the three players was introduced on the facebook page of MacedonianFootball.com where fans had the opportunity to vote for their choice.  After a very close race that ultimately came down to Ivanovski and Hasani, Filip was able to barely edge Ferhan and was thus voted as the best player during the first half of the season.

Filip Ivanovski is the captain for Vardar and led the Macedonian league with 14 goals in 17 appearances during the first half.  He was instrumental in helping Vardar be in first place before the winter break recently got underway in Macedonia.  Meanwhile, his closest competitor Ferhan Hasani had 5 goals and 8 assists in 14 league games for Shkendija who finished in third place at the conclusion of the first half.  Both players were in great form for their respective clubs but the fans ultimately chose Ivanovski.  The voting ended earlier today and Filip received a total of 18,117 likes as opposed to 18,040 likes for Hasani.  Dimoski from FK Ohrid finished a distant third with 962 likes.

Meanwhile, when it came to the best young player during the first half of the season, 16-year-old Darko Velkovski of Rabotnicki received the most votes by the fans.  He edged his club teammate Stole Dimitrievski and Horizont Turnovo attacker Dragan Gjorgiev.  Velkovski made 15 appearances this season and performed well despite playing against opponents who were much older.
