Europa League qualifications, 2nd round

Europa League Preview: Second legs

Europa League qualifications, 2nd roundRabotnicki are hosting Juvenes/Dogana in the quest to confirm third qualifying round, while Metalurg are seeking their first ever victory in European competitions.

After the (only) 0:1 win against Juvenes/Dogana, Rabotnicki are not leaving anything for granted and will attack all guns blazing against the Sanmarinese team. Rabotnicki are huge favorites and everything different then a home win with couple of goals in the visitors’ network will be a surprise. Coach Petreski has rather full squad to choose from and should field the best players in order to get a win and morale booster ahead of the match against Anorthosis in the third qualifying round.

Metalurg have far more difficult task ahead of them, but not impossible. After the 0-0 from the first leg, draw with scored goals suits Metalurg just enough for qualification in round 3. Lokomotiv Sofia are not an easy opponent, but definitely not one that is impossible to beat. In Skopje, Metalurg showed too much respect and the players seemed like they are good with the draw and were afraid to attack. In Sofia, they have nothing to lose. If they concede first, they must open the play and look for goal. Bookmakers put the hosts in favorites role giving them 1.40 odds for home win. Match is going to be played on National Stadium Vasil Levski in Sofia with kick-off time scheduled at 19.30 CET. Cyril Zimmermann from Switzerland will be the main referee.
