Macedonia may play a friendly game against England away at Wembley if both federations conclude the deal.
Several Macedonian media the past few days reported that Macedonia is about to play a road friendly against England on the 16th of May. Well, that’s partially true.
The thing is, England wants Macedonia as a reserve option for the 22nd of May. The FA has so far confirmed one friendly, against Australia on May 27 and is now trying to arrange friendlies with national teams that have qualified for the EURO 2016 in France. Therefore Macedonia is a back up option in case that date remains without an opponent.
The Premier League ends on May 15, so there is no sense their national team to play a friendly a day after all of their players have played club matches. The FA Cup final is scheduled for the 21st, but that’s a game featuring only two teams so the national team will only miss a few.
The supposed game would take place at the famous Wembley stadium in London. FFM is interested to arrange such a game, but we will have to wait and see what happens because it’s not really up to Macedonia. The only thing Macedonia has to do now is to accept to be a back up.
