After just 5 minutes of play the defensive tactics of Shkendija collapsed. Son found Lamela who was forgotten by the home defense and easily broke the dead lock.
That was all that happened in the opening 45 minutes as Tottenham controlled the game but did not manage to make another serious threat, while Shkendija started playing more in the opponent’s half, but without result.
Just ten minutes after the break Shkendija shocked Tottenham. Nafiu fired a great shot outside the box and left no chances to Joe Hart, equalizing the score.
That forced Mourinho to make changes introducing Lo Celso, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane.
In the 70th minute Son brought back the lead for Tottenham, while 9 minutes later he assisted to Kane for 1:3. That happened to be the final result.
