The solid performance by Vance Sikov in the first half of the season has led the Ukrainian club to bring another Macedonian player to the squad.  The 26-year-old Dusan Savić, who last played for Rabotnicki, has signed a 2 and a half year contract with Volyn from the city of Lutsk.  He was already on trial for a week and played in several friendlies during the club’s training camp in Turkey.

This will be Dusan’s fourth international adventure as he has already played for teams in Romania (Braşov), South Korea (Incheon United) and Uzbekistan (Pakhtakor).  Savić started his career in Dubočica from Serbia, the land from where he originates.  As a teenager, he arrived at Belasica and has since played and lived in Macedonia which allowed Savić to apply for Macedonian citizenship and play for the U21 team and later for the senior national team as well (8 caps to this day).Volyn; photo: Wikipedia.org

Vance Sikov was chosen by Volyn fans as the best player during the first half of the season in the Ukrainian top division where Volyn is currently in 12th place on the table out of 16 teams.  The club is currently seven points above the relegation zone.  Volyn could be adding a third Macedonian player later this week as the club will be offered 29-year-old defensive midfielder Filip Despotovski.  Since Filip’s agent and the Volyn manager have a good relationship, the transfer is expected to be realized.
