Draw for First & Second Leagues made

altThe draws for First and Second Leagues have been made and the derby of Macedonia awaits us in the first round.

The Macedonian First League starts on 3rd of August, at 17.30 CET and the highlight of the round will surely be the derby match between Pelister and Vardar. Pelister are hosts for the match, but it remains to be seen whether their stadium will get the go-ahead for this game.

In the other matches, champions Rabotnichki are hosting Metalurg, Horizont Turnovo travels to Kratovo to face returners Sileks, Renova faces the other team who made comeback – Teteks and the last match will be the one between Shkendija and Bregalnica.

This is the first time the First League is featuring 10 teams and the system of competition is completely different. After the first 9 rounds, there will be another 9 who will actually be return legs. After the completion of the 18 rounds, there will be another 9 rounds which will be played under the Berger System rules with teams from the upper part of the table privileged with one more match at home. After the completion of the 27 rounds, the league will split in two with 6 teams in the Play Off and 4 in the Play Out. In the Championship Round each team will play one match against all the other teams, while in the Relegation Round the 4 teams will play against each other twice. 

The bottom two teams relegate to the Second League, while the 8th placed team plays two matches against the third placed team from the Second League for completing the First League.

In the Second League, which kicks-off on 9th of August at 17.30 CET, the following matches will be played: Gorno Lisiche – Kozhuf Miravci, Shkupi – Drita, Vrapchishte – Napredok, Mladost Carev Dvor – Makedonija Gjorche Petrov, Skopje – Gostivar.

In the Second League, the teams will first play 18 rounds with classic home-away format. The next 9 rounds which will be last will be played under the Berger System rules with teams from the upper part of the table privileged with one more match at home. The last two teams are relegated to the Third Leagues, while the 8th placed team plays play-off matches along with the 5 champions from the Third Leagues for completion of the Second League.
