Despite not playing much for Barcelona B, David Babunski was once again summoned by Barcelona manager Tata Martino to train with the first team.
For several times this season, Barcelona manager Tata Martino has had David Babunski and several of his Barcelona B teammates train with the first team. On Monday, that was the case again when Babunski along with his Barcelona B teammates Bañuz, Dani Nieto and Joan Roman joined up training for the first team.
Despite the fact that Babunski has been called up multiple times to train with the first team of arguably the best team in the world, he has yet to receive much playing time with Barcelona B. This season, David has made just 10 league appearances for a total of slightly over 200 minutes. That includes just one start and nine substitute appearances off the bench.
Babunski is known as “the Philosopher” in Spain for his smarts and being wise beyond his years. David will turn 20 years old in early March, and playing time is crucial at that stage of a player’s career. He is seen as an important part of Macedonia’s future, so hopefully he will soon start to receive more consistent playing time. The next game for Barcelona B is on Sunday when they take on Mirandés.
