David Babunski published a Facebook post where he openly asked whether FFM really cares about improving the football in Macedonia.
Following yesterday’s defeat against Portugal U21, David Babunski published a post on his Facebook profile asking FFM why the players still have not returned to Macedonia, more then 24 hours after the match ended.
“FFM: My teammates from the U21 national team are still traveling to get home. They left the Portuguese hotel at 9:30 AM and are currently in Frankfurt awaiting a plane for Ljubljana so they can get to Skopje at 1:30 AM. Are these the better conditions you promised? Do you truly want the football in Macedonia to improve? Embarrassing. And don’t begin by saying there is no money, we all know where the money is. If you don’t want to spend money, I am ready to contribute from my salary and to invest in Macedonian football. Just tell me because I honestly want us to move forward. Before the match, we were traveling one hour to get to the stadium. And then we need to go out on the pitch and defend the flag and all of the Macedonian people who are supporting us. I don’t know how important that is to you or that you even care, but we ran for them” – was the translation of the Facebook post by Babunski.
It is surely a brave statement by a young footballer who is expected to be one of the leaders of the upcoming generation. To this point, there has been no response by FFM to Babunski’s post.
