The 26-year-old Daniel Georgievski finally settled his club career by signing as a free agent with Melbourne Victory of Australia.  Daniel had been training in the city of Shtip to stay in shape over the past month, but his focus was to continue his career abroad.  His first preference was to remain in a good European league, but he did not receive any satisfactory offers.  So, instead of further risking his club situation, he decided to accept the short term offer from Melbourne Victory.

Speaking to the club’s website, Gerogievski said, “I certainly have followed the progress of the A-League closely over the past few years and when the opportunity arose to return to Australia and play at the biggest club in the league, I was very interested in heading to Melbourne.”

Bregalnica also made an offer to Georgievski, but Daniel had absolutely no interest in playing in the Macedonian league.  He will now look to reclaim his form with Melbourne Victory, and attempt to return to a good European league next summer.

Georgievski had spent the past two seasons with Romanian giant Steaua.  His career with Steaua began on a good note, but he then suffered a gruesome broken leg that hurt his form.  Daniel was not the same after that injury and struggled once he returned to action.

It remains to be seen how this decision to sign in Australia affects his status with the Macedonian national team.  He was not called up for the Spain qualifier due to the fact that he was without a club at that point.
