CSKA Sofia fired Gjore Jovanovski

Gjore Jovanovski is not anymore manager of CSKA Sofia after the club fired him right after yesterday’s home defeat in the Europa League.

Jovanovski and his team failed to at least take a point at home against Rapid Wien which was a sign for the club’s board to make a change. The Macedonian coach didn’t had good results with CSKA, and even failed to beat Kaliakra at home on Sunday and the therfore the club’s board didn’t think too much about Jovanovski’s future. The goalless draw against one of the weakest Bulgarian clubs that plays in the top division for the first time in its history, ment that something isn’t right in CSKA and that a change is needed which happend after Jovanovski failed to use his last chance, to beat Rapid Wien.

The former Macedonian national team coach took over the Bulgarian giant in the middle of Augist after just 3 rounds played, the club fired its’ coach due to bad results and the same happened to Jovanovski too. He recorded 3 wins, 3 draws and 1 defeat, leaving CSKA on the 9th place, with 12 points less than table leader and biggest rival, Levski. In the Europa League, Jovanovski recorded one draw against The New Saints (Wales) in the qualifications and three defeats against Porto (Portugal), Beşiktaş (Turkey) and Rapid Wien (Austria) in the group stage and left the club on the bottom of the table without any points and with no goals scored.

But, after two managers failed to make good results with this team, the questions now is “does CSKA have players that are good enough?”
