China – Macedonia 1:0

Moment of the gameWith a goal scored in the 4th minute of the injury time from penalty, Macedonia lost with 1:0 away to China.

Macedonia lost the last game in 2010. Mirsad Jonuz and his combined team had a good result until the 4th minute of the injuty time when Deng Zhuoxiang brought China a 1:0 win with a shot from the penalty spot.

In the first half Macedonia was the better team but failed to take the lead. Armend Alimi hit the post with a good shot around the 25th minute. Bajram Fetai also had a chance to score from a free kick at the end of the first half, but the score didn’t change. China tried to score mainly with shots from distance, but Martin Bogatinov was unbeatable.

In the second half both coaches made some changes in the teams and the result was still 0:0. Mirko Ivanovski and Ferhan Hasani had chances for Macedonia, while China had chnaces as well and also hit the bar. However, in the 94th minute, Aleksandar Todorovski made a faul in the box and the referee awarded a penalty for China. Deng Zhuoxiang was the lucky man for the home team as he converted the penalty into a game winner goal bringing a 1:0 win and joy for the Chinese fans.

This was the third clash between China and Macedonia and becides one draw this was the second victory for China. Macedonian has never scored a goal against China. Also, this was the second time Macedonia to be beaten by China with a goal in the injury time.

The game was played at the Yuexiushan Stadium in the city of Guangzhou.
