After the announced Macedonian squad with some key players left out because of injuries and tiredness, the Nigerian coach Berti Vogts was also forced to make some changes in his squad because of injuries and administrative problems.
Pandev, Noveski and Mitreski to miss the Nigeria friendly
Goran Pandev, Nikolce Noveski and Aleksandar Mitreski have been removed from the Macedonian national team for the friendly match against Nigeria because of tirednes and slight injuries. Dusan Savic, Vance Sikov and Vanco Trajanov are their substitutions.
Nigeria with strongest team against Macedonia
The Nigerian coach Berti Vogts has named the list players for the friendly against Macedonia that will be played on August 22nd in Skopje. Martins, Utaka, Makinwa, Mikel, Yobo… among the 21 players, all playing in foreign leagues. Ikechukwu Uche from Getafe is the only new name in the Nigerian squad.
Disappointing performance by Rabotnicki
The football players of Rabotnicki Kometal had one very disappointing performance in the first match of the UEFA Cup 2nd qualification round and only drew 0:0 against the Bosnian side Zrinjski. Now they will have to hope on better match and good result on the rematch in Mostar in two weeks.
Katanec names squad for Nigeria friendly
Srecko Katanec, the coach of the national football team of Macedonia, announced the squad of 18 players for the friendly match against Nigeria that will be played in Skopje on 22nd August. Georgievski, Grncarov and Baldovaliev are the new names in the Macedonian team.
Friendly with Nigeria on August 22nd
The Macedonian Football Federation is finishing the negotiations with the Nigerian Football Associatiation for scheduling a friendly match that will be played on Wednesday, 22 August 2007 on the "Gradski" stadium in Skopje.
Football in Macedonia – 2007/08 season started
On August 5th, the 16th season of the Macedonian First Football League kicked off. Interesting like never before with many teams aiming for the top positions on the table and no real relegation candidate yet. Let's hope that this will bring quality football, bigger attendance and less scandals.
Rabotnicki qualify, Vardar eliminated
Rabotnicki Kometal qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup after another 2:1 win over the Slovenian club Hit Gorica. Vardar were eliminated on Cyprus by Anorthosis Famagusta with another 1:0 defeat. In the next round Rabotnicki will face Partizan from Belgrade or the Bosnian Zrinjski.
Hristov in Den Bosch, Bajevski in Mechelen
Two strikers and former members of the Macedonian national team have moved in new clubs. Gjorgi Hristov, the current leading striker of the Macedonian national team signed for the Dutch club Den Bosch and Aleksandar Bajevski signed for the Belgian KV Mechelen.
Pobeda eliminated
Macedonia will be without representative in the European Champions League after the elimination of the Macedonian champion Pobeda from Prilep. In the second match away to the Estonian Levadia from Tallinn, Pobeda only drew 0:0 and Levadia qualified for the next stage after the 0:1 win in Prilep.
