Several Cypriot newspapers are reporting that Apollon has secured the signature of defender Bojan Markoski who spent the past three seasons with Enosis.
There is only one round remaining in the Cypriot top division and once that concludes, centre back Bojan Markoski was set to become a free agent. However, according to newspaper reports out of Cyprus, Markoski has already found a new team and will continue his career with Apollon who have won three league titles in their history. Bojan was able to negotiate with other teams since he had fewer than six months on his contract.
Markoski will join Apollon from Enosis where he spent three seasons and accumulated 80 league appearances, in which he scored one goal. Bojan was brought to Cyprus in the summer of 2009 by Macedonian coach Cedomir Janevski who was the manager of Enosis at that time. The 28-year-old Markoski, nicknamed “The Beast” in Cyprus for his uncompromising style in defense, will join fellow Macedonian Hristijan Kirovski in Apollon if the striker remains with the club next season.
Bojan formerly played for the youth national teams of Macedonia but has never been capped by the senior national team. He has been hurt by the depth at the centre back position as players like Nikolce Noveski, Vance Sikov, Daniel Mojsov, Boban Grncarov and Vladimir Dimitrovski are all ahead of him on the pecking order.
