Belasica defends bravely, Lazio wins on late goal

Belasica started with a minimal 1:0 loss to Lazio at the 2014 Coppa Carnevale in Viareggio.

The young players from Belasica were just about to celebrate a draw against Italian giants Lazio, only for a late game winner by the Biancocelesti to devastate the visitors from Strumica. It was defender Lorenzo Filippini who netted a goal in the 86th minute to bring Simone Inzaghi’s squad the narrow win. Belasica defended bravely throughout the match, and even two penalties weren’t enough for Lazio to reach the back of the net. First, in the opening half, Lombardi missed the target from the spot, while in the second half Aleksovski saved Oikonomidis’ penalty. Furthermore, in the 57th minute, Gligorov was red carded so Belasica continued with one fewer player, but the balance was restored when Lazio’s Lombardi was sent off six minutes later.
